Finding something to do for Christmas Eve in Honolulu isn’t hard, that’s why I love this place. It’s got fantastic beaches, great weather, happy people (because they’re on vacation) and chill atmosphere. But if you need it – there’s always something going on. A concert, a play, an impromptu standup, slowly eating an ice cream cone while Santa is dancing and singing at one of the local malls (and a high standard one at that).

The US Army Museum was said to be brilliant so when I wandered around Waikiki/Honolulu today and suddenly found myself by the Fort DeRussy Park I knew I had to do two things: Get a shot glass from Hard Rock Cafe and visit the US Army Mseum. Continue reading
So the hostel I’m staying at give tours. They load their van up with hostelers, you pay 25 dollars and you get driven around to see something other than Waikiki. Excellent stuff. Continue reading
Someone needs to tell me stuff… Like “Annie, don’t go to the zoo around noon, it’s hot and all the animals will want to take a nap.” I’m an urban chick, I don’t know stuff like that… Continue reading
What an impressive sight this was! When we got to our second stop on the tour we halted briefly by the memorial for the USS Oklahoma (one of the three battleships never to recover from the PH attack), before setting our sights on one of the USAs last, great battleships. Continue reading
