So the hostel I’m staying at give tours. They load their van up with hostelers, you pay 25 dollars and you get driven around to see something other than Waikiki. Excellent stuff.
I signed up, got Ewnett with me and got in the van. Margaret was our guide for the day and she drove us through rainforest, to Kailua, to Lanikai Beach, Sandy Beach (famous for its waves and I could see why) and on to several lookout points and the Blowhole! We stopped in Kailua (meaning “toilet water”, nice name, people… good choice :-P) to have lunch, traditional Hawaiian cuisine and generally had an allout good time. I was exhausted again when we got back, the good, old “so many impressions” kind of tired… Unfortunately, my camera is pretty crappy so it really doesn’t convey the fantastic views we got… (but I guess that’s just another reason for you to come see for yourself) 😉
Ewnett and I… playing gnomes
and more views
wish I had a better camera…
Sylvie, getting swept away…
And of course, there’s a war memorial on site…
Local art 😉
Leave your shoes…
Sylvie & Ewnett
Margaret & the jokers 😉
Wanna go for a swim?
Steve was in, looking out forthe Portugese “man-whores”
We saw FIVE couples taking their photos within one hour. Popular beach.
Windy, but comfortable
Ewnett, Sylvie, Margaret & I
“Step over there, Annie, I’ll get a good picture of you…” Thanks, Margaret 😉
Me and Diane, she’s from Colombia and her English vocabulary consists of three words. I loved her.
Windy and gorgeous (the views, guys, I’m not that narcissistic)
Famous for its waves
Get our of there, Ewnett
This guys was old school, he used a flipflop on one hand as a boogie board O.o
The waves -where- kinda huge…
The sand was fantastic!
And the rainbow
And the views (Sandy Beach in the distance)
Getting a shot of me with the Blowhole… No? Hmm…
I guess we’ll have to go down there then…
So beautiful, I could easily spend a day here
Ewnett climbing like a pro
THERE we go! Thanks again, Margaret 😉
Diane laughing her ass off (her husband, Miguel, was standing right AT the blowhole. He’s drying his clothes now…)
Got sprayed 😉
What do you mean, officer? We never went over the fence… technically…
