While my trip was about seeing as much of the world as I could cram in with the budget I had, I found that for a while now I had thought of about going back to Honolulu – a place I’d been to once before and fallen completely in love with.

After being brought up on war movies by my older brother, (thanks, bro), I knew that even if I were to miss everything else in Vietnam, I would make sure to see the Cu Chi Tunnels.

This is gonna be a short and nerdy post. Our Pearl Harbor tour guide, Nancy, just happened to take us up by the statue of King Kamehameha while en route to the punchbowl (cemetery). She asked if anyone wanted pictures and I had to stop myself from shouting “YES!!”. Now, the USS Arizona was the number 1 item on my list of things to see on Oahu. The Arizona was a battleship moored in Pearl Harbor the day of the Japanese attack, but it was made famous when a armor-piercing bomb hit the bow and ignited the munitions battery below, causing what might have been the biggest, single explosion during the attack, killing over one thousand men instantly.
