Oktoberfest (also called Wiesn or Oktobafest) is the world’s largest Volksfest, featuring a beer festival and a travelling carnival, and is held annually in Munich, Germany, from mid- or late-September to the first Sunday in October. And when my excellent and admirable friends decided I should go to… Well, what choice did I really have? ❤

I think maybe I would’ve chosen a different route with regards to giving people up close and personal experiences with a volcano eruption, but I guess that’s just me. Maybe the elves took it too far… If you know, you know.

Andreas and I finally went to Seoul together, after I went solo in 2011. Did much the same things as last time, but Seoul is a wonderful city with so much to see and do and it was amazing experiencing some of it again with my bro.

And just like that I was back in my favourite place in New Zealand: Queenstown. The extreme sports mecca of the world. The place that is just small enough to be incredibly cosy, but just busy enough to satisfy my need for human observation and interaction. Continue reading

February 26th 2019 I will officially have been travelling for two years. I am writing this blog post a little ahead of time as I am getting ready for my trip to China. I’ll be arriving in China second week of February to teach English for five months and travel around for one, therefore I’ll be in the middle of introduction week and course when this blog post was supposed to go up. I decided to be efficient 😉

Teh Kollektiv [SIC] usually take a trip together once a year for a weekend. We take turns deciding where to go and it’s always the greatest of fun ❤ For obvious reasons we weren’t able to do this last year and we put the trips on hold for a while because of my trip, but when I realized I would be back in Europe for May I contacted La Familia and Andreas got to planning where to go (as it was his turn).

February 26th 2018 I had officially been travelling for a whole year. I celebrated the day by checking off a bucket list item: Cu Chi Tunnels. The tunnels the Viet Cong used in their resistance against the US in the Vietnam War. It’s an item that was high up on my list since I started planning this trip so I organized it for this day to appropriately mark the date.
