Athens, one of humanity’s many cradles. I had only two days there so obviously the Acropolis was at the top of my list. I added Hadrian’s Gate for good measure, because I’m weirdly fascinated by the myth of Hadrian and it’s right next to the Acropolis.

Those who know me know I have a serious fascination with history and mythology, but Greece was not actually on my list for this trip, because I figured it was close enough to Norway to go later. That all changed when I met Basil in Egypt and he invited me to his wedding…

I was invited to my friends’ Domi and Juli’s to spend a weekend and bear witness to the cultural phenomenon called “Schützenfest”. I think this might have been my most cultural experience in my travels so far…

It’s kinda funny that I had never been to Berlin before this trip, but I’d been to Mannheim, Heidelberg and other small places no one else ever went to. I decided to follow that up by visiting Paderborn…

I had been in Germany a couple of times, but always smaller places like Mannheim, Heidelberg and others I can’t even remember… I had never been to Berlin so I decided now was the time… And the Berlin Wall was on my Bucket List.

Teh Kollektiv [SIC] usually take a trip together once a year for a weekend. We take turns deciding where to go and it’s always the greatest of fun ❤ For obvious reasons we weren’t able to do this last year and we put the trips on hold for a while because of my trip, but when I realized I would be back in Europe for May I contacted La Familia and Andreas got to planning where to go (as it was his turn).

February 26th 2018 I had officially been travelling for a whole year. I celebrated the day by checking off a bucket list item: Cu Chi Tunnels. The tunnels the Viet Cong used in their resistance against the US in the Vietnam War. It’s an item that was high up on my list since I started planning this trip so I organized it for this day to appropriately mark the date.
