Edinburgh Girls’ Trip

“It’s that building, the one with Nazi Robbie Williams.”
– Barbro

Birthday present for Barbro this year was taking her to Edinburgh, taking a tour of the Chocolatarium and generally engaging in fried food ’til the point our stomachs decided we didn’t need more meals after breakfast ;-P The weather forecast said 100 % chance of rain the whole time we were there, but we only really saw proper prolonged rain the same day we decided to walk 30 mins to find Barbro’s grandmmother’s childhood home… With our shopping in paper bags… Souvenirs in need of washing after that debacle, but oh well, it’s just water and a little street grime.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE CHOCOLATARIUM

Jennifer the best guide ever received an extra £10 tip from me because she was so incredible. Enthusiastic without being too much, and incredibly knowledgeable. We got to make our own plate of chocolate (Barbro and I both chose the highland cow) and in it were put everything we could possibly desire, no limits. We went through the history of Chocolate itself and at the end we were treated to a whole wall of shelves full of different chocolates infused with tastes from all over the world. I even tried on a “Pho spices” flavoured chocolate. It was good. Like everything else on there.

Fun extra fact: The Chocolatarium had a toiled that was “twinned” with a latrine in Tanzania. It might have been a complete joke, but it might also be true enough. Either way it was hilarious ❤

GENERIC TRIP TO EDINBURGH PHOTOS ❤

The rest of the time we ate, watched “Heartbeat”, “Midsomer Murders” and “House of Games” on our hotel room telly, drank and walked around taking photos and buying way too many souvenirs. We both got the same faux-wool poncho with faux-fur trimming and talked, again, about getting matching tattoos. One of these days… All in all a success, especially since the flights were not delayed and everything actually ran smoothly this time around.
